Dolce dark walnut desk - This review is similar to my review of the Dolce hutch which I purchased at the same time. I ordered the Dolce hutch and desk for my grandson. He was very specific about what he wanted. I had purchased the exact same hutch and desk at a garage sale for my granddaughter a few years ago, and my grandson loved it and wanted one just exactly like it. After lots of searching on the internet, I found the hutch and desk on Amazon. The desk arrived but was defective. The legs were to be screwed into the bottom of the desk, but the holes in the desk were much too large to accommodate the screws in the legs. This desk was returned and another desk was shipped to us. The second desk was defective as well. It has several scratches on the top of the desk. Because of the fact that the matching hutch was shipped to us broken (twice), my grandson was disappointed and disgusted and said he would begrudgingly accept the desk with the scratches on it, for the simple reason he was tired of waiting. As was the case with the matching hutch, the boxes were not damaged, so we don t think the desk was damaged in shipment, but both of them were, apparently, defective when they left the warehouse of the manufacturer. These items were purchased as new but we are disappointed in the condition of both items. Amazon was very cooperative and helpful. The manufacturer is clearly at fault in this case.
GREAT Product POOR packaging - This product was a great buy and I love it, HOWEVER, the shipping service I did not love. The package came torn, and there was 3 places on the desk in which it was chipped. I am gong to get some touch up markers to hide the dents because it is too much of a hassle to return.(and I do love it) So I warn you if you can find this product at a store, then that is your best bet. Love this desk! - Our desktop is located in the dining/kitchen area. I searched a long time to find a matching desk and dining table combo. I almost went with something else, but I really liked the dark walnut finish so I go this desk and Dolce 5-pc. Dining Set.It was shipped UPS, which probably not a good thing since they are known for banging up things. The desk was easy to assemble. Had to screw in a total of 8 screws (for the legs) and then the knob on the keyboard drawer. Now the drawer is sometimes hard for it to stay closed. I found that you have to close it just right for the top to stay up, which can be a pain, but the office chair we have hides it from view so it s fine with me. What can you expect with something this cheap.The desk has a nice sleek finish, looks very expensive. It is a decent size, not too big. We were lucky that our box wasn t damaged, however there are 2 dark spots on the top of the desk. I think it is just the wood s finish. We were able to cover 1 with the monitor, the other thankfully isn t too noticable. Ours did have a small centimeter nick on the top with was noticeable because you could see the light wood underneath. I actually just colored it in with a brown sharpie and you cant even tell because the area was so small.All in all I would reccomend this desk to any, especially is you don t have alot of space. Also get the matching hutch is you have an lcd monitor. If you have the bigger kind, it might not fit right.

walnut desk - I love this desk! It was a breeze to assemble...few parts. It looks great with the matching hutch. It looks like a more expensive desk!
